Overview
Southbank Tower is a luxury pied-à-terre where the lighting design was developed to enhance both the interior atmosphere and the exceptional views across London. With St Paul’s Cathedral and the city skyline forming such a strong backdrop, the scheme needed to feel refined and controlled, supporting the architecture and furnishings without competing with the view.
The lighting is layered to create flexibility throughout the open-plan living, dining and kitchen spaces. Decorative pendants provide elegant focal points over the dining table and island, while discreet architectural lighting gives practical light where needed. Careful attention was given to glare control and reflection, ensuring the apartment feels warm and comfortable in the evening while maintaining a clear connection to the city beyond.
At dusk, the lighting comes into its own, creating a soft interior glow against the blue tones of the skyline. The scheme balances task lighting, ambient lighting and decorative detail to create a calm, sophisticated setting for family living and entertaining. The result is a considered lighting design that adds warmth, depth and elegance to this contemporary London home.
