Mantis BS3 Table Lamp embodies Bernard Schottlander’s lifelong exploration of movement, balance and engineering. As both artist and engineer, Schottlander developed a clever pivot and counterweight system using flexible yet resilient metal rods, allowing the lamp to move with remarkable fluidity while maintaining perfect equilibrium. This technical intelligence gives the lamp its signature sense of lightness and precision.

Inspired by the kinetic sculptures of Alexandre Calder, the Mantis collection plays with the tension between balance and imbalance, much like a mobile delicately poised in space. The result is a lamp that appears to defy gravity, suspended by an invisible logic. Poetic yet disciplined, Mantis BS3 Table Lamp brings elegance, motion and quiet drama to desks, side tables and refined interior settings—true elegance on a thread.
