ISP Table Lamp immediately raises questions. Is it an artefact from another era, an object from outer space, or a glimpse into a future yet to come? Designed by Ilia Sergeevich Potemine, a young engineer-artist, ISP is a radical departure from conventional lighting. It references nothing familiar, borrowing neither from historical forms nor existing typologies. Instead, it stands as a resolutely contemporary object—a luminous jewel that reveals a world both mechanical and poetic.
Housed within a refined brass capsule, ISP redefines how we engage with light. There is no switch, no dimmer, no immediate control. Light emerges gradually, passing through a moment of eclipse before fully revealing itself, making the act of illumination a sensory experience rather than a simple function. Switched off, eclipsed or fully lit, ISP Table Lamp becomes whatever the viewer chooses to see—an object to be interpreted, experienced and completed by imagination.
